The 50 things that I'm sure you were just dying to know about me... [see also Q & A]

1. Like Lucy, I was born in Taiwan.
   
   
2. I started walking at 9 months.
   
   
3. I grew up in Long Beach, CA.
   
   
4. I was named after one of the characters on "Three's Company". Guess which one.
   
   
5. When I was 4, the doctors said I would become deaf if my fever of 104 deg F didn't go down.
   
   
6. I am prone to motion sickness, as witnessed by my throw-up incidents outside of the front gate at Disneyland (age 4) and in the bakery aisle at Vons' Supermarket (age 7).
   
   
7. My parents used to own a motel.
   
   
8. My first teddy bear's name was Petey.
   
   
9. I started taking ballet when I was 5 and got my first pair of pointe (toe) shoes at age 12.
   
   
10. In the 2nd grade, I had a note to my parents from the school nurse, telling them that I needed to get my eyes checked. I tossed it into the trash can.
    
    
11. I got a Chinese dictionary for being ranked #2 in my Saturday Chinese school class.
    
    
12. I guess I'm musically inclined- played the piano since age 5 and learned to play the violin in the 4th grade.
    
    
13. I spent 3 summers at Long Beach State's Young Writers' Camp.
    
    
14. In the 8th grade, the boys told each other that I could beat them up (because I was bossy).
    
    
15. I was ranked #1 among 180 Precalculus students for a semester and aced the final exam.
    
    
16. I was one of 4 students (the only girl) to take both AP Calculus and AP Stats/Prob at the same time.
    
    
17. I applied to just 2 universities- Long Beach State and UCLA, because I knew I would get into at least one.
    
    
18. I suffer from allergies, occasional eczema, and possibly asthma.
    
    
19. Though I did try to perm my hair once, I have never dyed my hair or had a manicure, a pedicure or a facial.
    
    
20. I've never bought coffee at Starbucks, Coffee Bean or anywhere for that matter.
    
    
21. My favorite team is the Los Angeles Lakers. I also root for the L.A. Dodgers, Anaheim Angels, L.A. Kings, Anaheim Mighty Ducks and L.A. Galaxy.
    
    
22. I am known as a jumper and a turner at ballet, but mostly, as a dancer who can do anything.
    
    
23. I believe in fate, but hard work is necessary to get you there.
    
    
24. I majored in World Arts and Cultures. Don't ask, it was the closest thing to a dance major.
    
    
25. I skipped more classes in college than I ever did prior, but I still got on the Dean's List in college for 1 quarter.
    
    
26. I talk more now than I used to, but still prefer email to phone/direct communication.
    
    
27. I can be lazy.
    
    
28. A fellow dancer's 4-yr old brother thought I was really Cinderella. He wanted to take ballet lessons too but his dad wouldn't let him.
    
    
29. I have not, am not, and never will be Chinese.
    
    
30. I say "mine's is" instead of "mine is".
    
    
31. My job is part "financial analyst"
    
    
32. I am very noise and smell sensitive.
    
    
33. I have never watched a professional ballet company's production of anything.
    
    
34. In preschool, I couldn't finish my slice of pizza and was not allowed to go outside and play.
    
    
35. I have always liked sleeping on top of covers, rather than underneath them.
    
    
36. I have an aquarium full of goldfish in my room.
    
    
37. When I was 5, I stuck my foot into the wheel of the bicycle and sprained my ankle.
    
    
38. People seem to like me okay, but I'm not sure why.
    
    
39. I try to make the most of any situation.
    
    
40. My favorite cookies are peanut butter.
    
    
41. When I got a wooden box as a gift from my ballet teacher, I dubbed it "Pandora's Box".
    
    
42. People like my muscular calves. I don't.
    
    
43. I had a brief fling with anorexia during the summer of 2002 where I lost 14 pounds. I gained it all back after a year of binging.
    
    
44. I don't know how to drive... but I will learn someday.
    
    
45. I have a quick smile, but an equally quick scowl.
    
    
46. I try to answer all questions before they are asked and expect others to do the same.
    
    
47. I am a registered Republican... and voted for G.W. in 2000.
    
    
48. I wish I drew comic strips for a living.
